Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following time periods: 1976-1994; Operation Desert Storm; Operation Restore Hope. Contains photographs of the following military organizations: The Old Guard; Department of Defense Honor Guard. General description of the collection: The Pentagon photograph collection of predominately color photos basically covers the eras of Defense Secretaries Dick Cheney and Les Aspen. Within this collection are found certificate presentations, medal presentations, promotion ceremonies, demonstrations of new equipment, receptions for foreign dignitaries, President Reagan, President Bush and President Clinton, portrait photos of numerous secretaries and under secretaries of various branches of the Department of Defense both civilian and military, photos of Joint Chiefs of Staff, photos of tank, aircraft, ships and rocketry either under development or deployed, congressional hearings, press conferences, trips by various secretaries of Defense to foreign countries, and Operations Desert Storm and Operation Restore Hope. Some of the major activities within the Department of Defense in the Pentagon and elsewhere during the period 1976-1994 can be seen within this collection.
